Described as a ‘Once in a Generation’ greyhound … Bella Infrared dominated America’s top track Southland, like no other.
He recorded an unbelievable 71 wins from his 100 starts at America’s top track, including a consecutive run of 19 straight.
He broke the track record there three times and held it for nearly 6 years until it was broken on the 9th August this year by SH Avatar’s brilliant son Konomi at a blistering 31.03. Bella took it back in December 2012 when running 31.14 while breaking his previous record of 31.28.
He was voted Captain of the 2012 All American Team, which is equivalent to being selected as the US Greyhound Of the Year.
He won the 2011 Southland Hound Madness Stake, the 2012 Sprint Derby, was 3rd in the 2011 Southland Derby Consolation and the Chris Chance Memorial Feature. He was also a finalist in the 2012 Southland RLC Million Dollar Series Stake finalist
At the end of 2017 Bella moved into 6th position on the US sires list with the second highest strike rate of any of the top 20 sires, only behind SH Avatar
Words don’t do justice to Bella Infrared .. he was just so dominant. A real superstar and a household name in the US.
